Well, I don't think any particular book will help you. For file system programming you must understand these things 1) Virtual File system layer of the particular OS 2) Virtual memory and buffer caches 3) Design of the file system which includes the data structures used in the file system and the various algorithms used in it. If you want to program in FreeBSD then I would recommend 'The Design and Implementation of FreeBSD' book for the internals.
