An Intel Leopard box should be able to compile a universal binary for both PPC and Intel, but would require explicitly passing -arch flags. The J2SE 5.0 builds on Leopard for ppc, i386, and x86_64 were always made using an Intel builder. Just a thought, Mike Swingler Java Engineering Apple Inc.
