I'm going to have to agree; and I've never ever dealt with sendmail. I always install another MTA (as of late, Postfix) on a fresh install and have since my first FreeBSD install almost five years ago. sendmail spooked me as a newbie, and thankfully I've never had to actually deal with it. I agree that's not fair though and I really should know how to configure and administer a sendmail instance since it is the default, and is so widely deployed.
