Infortunatelly, in Brazil there is only the SBC (Sociedade Brasileira de Computação - Brazilian Computing Society) but they do not present an ethic code on their site. Also, the computing professionals in Brazil do not have a legal recognition yet, leaving the market open for anyone who wants to say they work with computing to do so.

There are, of course, other controls like if you are going to assemble hardware, you must have an egineer, and all that, but software houses do not have this kind of controls. There is no need for a software engineer to make a software house, or a software at all. :-(

Please do and report back as that would be useful.

I'm also interested in what is available in other parts of the world if anyone wants to report on their neck of the woods. This does not mean that there _will_ be a required code of ethics. This is merely researching what is available so we have the information available to make an informed decision.
