I have heard it many times( infact most of us would have ) and have
also said it too :-)

So what did Usenix decide? Get away with Certifications?

Yes true! "Who use" and 'generally"

There are out there some who would like to use but have shyed away due
to the lack of Certification which is one way to prove proficiency.
now please don't mix this up with MCSE,CCNA and so on. We will be
differrent.

Yes there is a increase in interest for BSDs among companies! and
certification will further it ( in terms of deployment) because new
company's will find it more secure hiring people with a good
certifiaction.

Yes!!! Interview with many of them!!! For example there are many who
still stick to M S Windows/Redhat firewalls due to RHCE certification
available. Most of them I spoke to would like to use OpenNSD after
being informed about it but either can't find qualified people or have
no way of checking their qualifications.

I had the Gut feel 3 years back and over these three years I am
finding it in practice. yes right before my eyes while speaking with
employers, CIOs etc.

Who claimed here that demand exists because we assert so?
And do you have absolute surety that demand does not exist because 19
people ( that is a big percentage of world's population) said nothing
about it.

Please clarify as to what makes you think demand does not exist.

Statistics? ( based on 19 nos?)
Interviews? ( with the peple who haven't heard of BSDs or know about
its quality?)

Gut Feeling? ( may be your 19 no. statistics would have given you that! )

Wishful thinking?? ( no idea how it applies here but just becaused you
put this option in your choice of answers )

Or mere ignorance????

Kind Regards
