New Orleans Poets and Soul Survivors of Hurricane Katrina perform live in South Florida
Press Release

	Miami, Florida - November 11th 2005 - Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Lao Tzu In the case of the amazingly talented Spoken Word Artists from New Orleans this saying is bitter sweet for they not only know how to "fish" they have perfected the craft.  It is in the aftermath of Katrina that they like countless others  now need to get their rods back.  In an effort to support these poets, members of South Florida's Spoken Word Community invite you to be a part of our relief effort by supporting Mello Monday, Jook Joints and 1st Wednesdays . As they  showcase members of the New Orleans National Slam team in the upcoming months    Each poet will be featured at the above venues, and make guest appearance at other events, over a one week period where they will be given the opportunity to perform and sell product. We will also be accepting donations specific to each poets needs.
