The Film, Recording and Entertainment Council (FREC) is a dynamic organization and the premier networking industry organization in South Florida. The Miami Dade College (MDC) offers more than 150 associate's degrees in areas such as: accounting, entertainment technology, foreign languages, mass communication and ...and many more. Some of these provide the first two years of college before transferring to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree. Others are two-year programs designed for immediate job entry. MDC offers 50 fast-track vocational training programs, as well as a full complement of adult education classes, GED preparation classes, and classes for fun and recreation.  Some of the newest programs are Histologic Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Marketing Management, Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Veterinary Technology, and Dental Office Management, to name a few. There are six campuses and additional centers conveniently located throughout Miami-Dade County. Many of the classes can also be taken from home or work through a variety of distance education options including Independent Studies, Life Lab, Open College and Virtual College.

The National Broadcasting Society & Alpha Epsilon Rho (NBS&AERho) is an organization created in 1943 for students and professionals pursuing a career within the electronic media field. The purpose of the National Broadcasting Society is to help collegiate electronic media students make the transition to the professional world. NBS and AERho enhance the development of students and early professionals on a chapter, district, regional and national level by promoting excellence, providing opportunities for ethical and responsible leadership, providing exposure to the "electronic media" industries, assisting in career preparation, providing opportunities for and encouraging the development of members through advanced media education programs and providing opportunities for and encouraging the participation of members in community service projects and activities.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS  

Connie Zimet
has had a varied career touching all segments of the entertainment business and the arts beginning at age eight. She has been a recording artist, successful jingle/studio singer as well as a successful voice actor for 40 years and a sought-after voice acting coach for over 25 years. She has taught workshops privately and at the University of Miami, Miami Dade College, UCLA, USC as well as for AFTRA and SAG in Miami and Los Angeles.  As a singer and voice-over talent she has been heard on literally hundreds of thousands of commercials including Estee Lauder, Hanes Hose, Apple Computers, Burdines and The Vitamin Shoppe. Her book, Connie Zimet's VoiceOver Tool Box; All the Tools You need to Build or Renovate A Career in Voiceovers." Is scheduled for release in Fall 2006.  Connie is President of the Miami Local of AFTRA.

David Scott began his broadcasting career here in South Florida over 20 years ago under the tutelage of Miami radio legend Rick Shaw. He then spent years unlearning the "announcer voice" so as to become "book-able" for national commercial work, only to discover that the "announcer voice" worked really well in the Promo world. Currently the promo voice for NBC's Today Show and the promo and billboards voice for CBS Sports (see, that "announcer voice" really does work!) as well as affiliate TV stations, including CBS4 in Miami, he's also heard daily on national and local commercials, and periodically as a program narrator on TLC and the Discovery Channel.

Memo Sauceda: In Mexico he worked as an actor, host and voice over talent. In Miami he has hosted shows for Univision, Telemundo and Galavision and had the morning drive in Romance 106.7 for two years.  He works as an actor in sitcoms, soaps, theater, and does commercials on camera and off camera. Memo has 1 A.I.R. award and 3 Emmys.

CC Limardo: CC is an experienced  radio and TV journalist from Venezuela.  Her voice career began on the radio as a news announcer and talk show host.  CC has done many commercials for the U.S and Latin American markets.  She also does promos for several Spanish-language networks and is an accomplished on-camera actor.

Zach Ziskin:  Multi-talented - Zach is a sought-after voice actor, Grammy Award winning sound engineer for his recent work on Roberto Carlos' album Pra Sempre and acclaimed singer/songwriter and producer.  Named by the Sun-Sentinel as one of the top five local artists, Zach was also one of 4 independent artists out of over 3000 submissions included on Fender/Warner Bros. Record's Emerging Artist CD in 2004 and was the runner-up in NARAS Grammy Showcase, featuring the top 6 independent acts in Florida in 2005.
