*Jazz & Blues Legend James Blood Ulmer Opens
Tigertail Productions 2007-2008 Season on October 20
**Season Kick-Off Party October 11 *

*
*Jazz and blues legend *James Blood Ulmer*, with an electrifying trio that
includes himself, Mark Peterson and Aubrey Dayle, opens *Tigertail
Productions'* 2007-2008 season when he performs a rare area concert on
Saturday, *October 20, 2007, 8:30 pm,* at the Colony Theatre, 1040 Lincoln
Road, on Miami Beach. Ulmer, who earlier in his career played with
pioneering jazz-great Ornette Coleman, is an iconoclastic genius who mixes
it up with the raw power of the blues, R & B and funk to create an indelible
and unique sound.

This year James Blood Ulmer has been an exposed to a whole new generation
through his first-ever appearance at the 2007 *Bonnaroo Music Festival*. He
has been repeatedly recognized as a true icon in the music industry,
including receiving *Downbeat Magazine's "Blues Album of the Year"* for his
previous CD. His most recent work, a moving take on the Katrina catastrophe,
has made James Blood Ulmer's voice and searing guitar more relevant than
ever.

This one-night only concert is presented by the non-profit *Tigertail
Productions*, a South Florida leader in innovative cultural work. Says
Tigertail Executive Director *Mary Luft*, "We've always showcased the best
of jazz and leading-edge musical forms, and James Blood Ulmer, who is a
genre-bridging mix of Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, P-Funk and Mississippi
Fred McDowell, fits right in with that goal.

*Tickets* are $35 for general admission, $25 for seniors and students with a
valid I.D., or $50 for VIP tickets with priority entrance and best seating.
