Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen.
Be sure to consult the FAQ section in the manual before submitting
a bug report. If the bug (or problem) is triggered by a specific
(La)TeX file, you should try to produce a minimal sample file
showing the problem and include it in your report.
Your bug report will be posted to the AUCTeX bug reporting list.

When entering texinfo-mode, the one provided by AUCTeX is not
used. Instead the original texinfo-mode bundled with emacs is used.
How to reproduce:
1. Create a new buffer with, say, C-x b aaa RET (The buffer name is
arbitrary.)
2. M-x texinfo-mode
3. The buffer is in texinfo-mode provided with the original emacs, not
in the one which comes along with AUCTeX. One can tell the
difference from, for example, by typing C-h b and observing that the
*Help* buffer contains lines like
C-c C-c c [EMAIL PROTECTED]
which contradics to that C-c C-c is bound to TeX-command-master in
AUCTeX.
Analysis:
1. At first, tex-site.el declares the following defalias and autoload:

(autoload 'TeX-texinfo-mode "tex-info")
2. So typing M-x texinfo-mode leads to loading tex-info.el, which
contains a form
(require 'texinfo)
3. Then texinfo.el, bundled with emacs, is loaded, resulting in that the
above defalias for texinfo-mode is overwritten by
(define-derived-mode texinfo-mode text-mode "Texinfo"
in texinfo.el.
4. Therefore, the overwritten function definition is used for M-x
texinfo-mode, ignoring the TeX-texinfo-mode defined in tex-info.el.
