what in fact did happen.
Be sure to consult the FAQ section in the manual before submitting
a bug report. If the bug (or problem) is triggered by a specific
(La)TeX file, you should try to produce a minimal sample file
showing the problem and include it in your report.

TeX-clean stops with an error "Wrong type argument: sequencep, t" if the
number of the file to be deleted is only one.
How to reproduce:
0. rm -f aaa.*
1. touch aaa.tex aaa.log
2. Open aaa.tex with AUCTeX.
3. C-c C-c Clean RET
Analysis:
Again this is an Emacs 21 compatibility problem. The following lines
are part of TeX-clean definition quoted from tex.el:

It passes (cons t files) as the third argument for dired-mark-pop-up if
`files' consists of only one file. However, dired-mark-pop-up of Emacs
21 does not accept such argument.
