Title: Error occurred after last TeX file closed Description: We are having the same problem that many others are posting about on the forums. <http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/124246/uninformative-error-message-when-using-auctex> <http://www.latex-community.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=23154>
I have, for years, been using Aquamacs on my office Mac to write TeX files and then invoking LaTeX (using an icon at the top of the Aquamacs window). If there is an error in the file that prevents LaTeX from successfully processing it, I get a message (at the bottom of the Aquamacs window) saying that there was an error and I can get details about it by pressing Control-C-`. That would usually get me the description of the error (usually a misspelled TeX command), and it would even put the cursor at the place where the error occurred (or, more precisely, where the error was detected), which would make it easy to correct the problem. Now, though, pressing Control-C-` (as instructed) gets me no information about the error, but rather the message "Error occurred after last TeX file closed." This is the case even if the error is a simple misspelling of a TeX command. Needless to say, it makes correcting the error *much* more difficult --- I have to either do a binary search of the TeX file or try to read the log file, both of which are very time-consuming. Is there a workable fix we can employ? CONFIGURATION System: Apple iMac 21.5" 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo System OS: Mac OS 10.8.5 Aquamacs Version: 3.0a GNU Emacs 24.2.50.2
