Thanks for the report.  I admit I'm not sure if I exactly understand
what you describe.  Can you please:

  • Set `TeX-parse-self' to t and try it again?  I see have you have
    that variable set to nil.

  • If that doesn't work, can you please provide a minimal .tex file for
    us in order to reproduce what you describe?
