Maybe: kill any process marked 'preview-automatic when the user requests
compilation.  TeX-process-check could detect user requests by inspecting
a dynamic var set by the interactive commands.

Haven't experienced this yet (but haven't played around with
preview-automatic much yet, looking forward to doing so once I get the
basics ironed out).
