That's correct.  The autoconf-2.61/BUGS says "Parallel builds via
`make -jN' do not work."  It'd be nice if someone could fix this, but
it won't be trivial.

Oops, missed that.  Maybe it's possible to strip any -jN flag from make 
as a workaround... just guessing.
