Hello, I have previously tried asking how to build a subproject as a static library by default on the mailing lists. See here https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/autoconf/2014-01/msg00024.html . Because there does not seem to be a way to build a subproject as a static library by default I am reporting a bug. So, I think there is a bug in autoconf in that one can not build a subproject as a static library by default.
