As for autoconf, this is what shows in the testsuite file:

emulate sh
So it is really just zsh. I reran test -nt after starting emulate sh and the
result is the same:
echo $? returns 0
stat -f %Fm configure configure.1
1735604012.974301525
1735604012.850264895
