Follow-up Comment #3, sr #111055 (group autoconf): Could it be that this report applies only to older versions of Apple Clang? On macOS 26.2, with cc being "Apple clang version 17.0.0 (clang-1700.6.3.2)", "cc -help" reports that the option '-fopenmp' exists.
The tentative fix (attached) makes no difference on macOS 26.
