I haven't looked into why yet, but automake 1.9.5 doesn't install its info
files when doing a `make install'. automake 1.9.4 and earlier did.
If I do
make install
cd doc && make install
the info files are installed as expected.
This is on alphaev56-dec-osf5.1b with GNU make 3.80 and GNU texinfo 4.8
installed, though I don't think any of that is relevant to the problem.
