barcode is not able to cope with modern ISBN numbers. $ barcode -E -b 979-10-91414-19-7 -e ISBN -o /tmp/barcode.eps barcode: can't encode "979-10-91414-19-7" $ barcode --version GNU barcode 0.99 is a tool to convert text strings to printed bars.
