We're using barcode to print the barcode for a large swath of systems
at our not-for-profit refurbishing project and find Code 128 mostly
does the best job and providing a clear barcode that works for all the
systems, and scans easily (39 was difficult to scan when we had long
barcodes). One issue we've run into is the same issue mentioned in
this post from 2018:

https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-barcode/2018-03/msg00000.html

We're using barcode as installed in Linux Mint 22.1 (0.99). Wondering
if this patch could be applied to barcode and changes pushed to a deb
package (Debian repositories). Or any font that doesn't jumble
characters together. Or better yet a switch to specify a font...

Thanks,

Charles
