They are probably not maintained much; the GMP people complained over that.
Because of a problem with spam filtering (see below), I wrote to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> twice (25 Feb, 8 Mar) and till today (2 months later) I didn't even get a reply. Also the serious (IMHO) problem with phishings in the archives I mentioned below still exists.
The problem is to find a model that cuts the spam, combined with the requirement that anyone can make a post. The University if Stockholm has a very good spam filter, out of 14000 emails labelled as spam that I have received, only one was done that wrongly; it was a post to Help-Bison. You might check with [EMAIL PROTECTED] or http://www.su.se which spam filter they are using.
