Jonathan: Many thanks for letting me know.
Mark: There should be just one place for bug reports. The other one
should be specifically turned off, so that newcomers such as me don't
get misled by way out-of-date information.
The bugtracker seems to be very active. The email list seems to be very
quiet. So the email list ought to be specifically turned off (and/or
new logins prevented, and/or an info file ("big warning: extinct") ought
to be sent to attempted new subscribers, etc.).)
I'll set about submitting my bug report to the bugtracker. Thanks
