RMS has just dubbed my new project as 'GNU Sysutils'. This project is primarily aimed at replacing util-linux, since both the name and many of the utilities are unsuitable for the Hurd. The project, like most GNU projects, will attempt to serve the needs for many systems.
My intention is to have utilities like chsh, chfn, wall, and hwclock that are not useful to an end-user but essential for system administration. I'm also wondering whether su should eventually migrate over. Anyhow, I mostly wanted to let you know. I applied for the Savannah project today, so I'll have mailing lists and all that setup soon. For those interested in playing along, the main list will be [EMAIL PROTECTED], and copyright assignments will be required. With any luck it'll all be setup for this weekend.
