Could you try a more recent version of coreutils? Alot of the code
that handles directory tree walking has changed since 5.0.91.

Sadly, since Savannah got cracked you can't checkout the latest
development version of coreutils from the CVS repository.  You could
check alpha.gnu.org:/gnu/coreutils, if there exists a recent beta
release of coreutils to try.  If not, then I can always put up an
unoffical copy of the current CVS tree that I have on my hard-drive
for download.
