Hmm. When did this spelling change? In old man pages (http://reviewed.homelinux.org/man/df/), I see BLOCKSIZE. I assume that the $BLOCKSIZE (no _) spelling is a BSDism... But I do note that the POSIX spec lists it as a proposed extension, with that spelling. It seems to me like it would be reasonable to use $BLOCKSIZE if $BLOCK_SIZE isn't set, simply because it's widely used elsewhere.
