Actually I was mistaken.  The HP-UX ls prints the @ sign.  I was
confused somehow thinking that it did not.

  /bin/ls -Fl | grep bar
  lrwxrwxr-x   1 rwp        users         3 Jul  5 21:55 bar@ -> foo
