Well, that doesn't answer the question but shifts it.  Why do you
consider it an "outrage" that it takes more than a few bytes?

Seriously, I'm quite curious because I cannot see how saving a few
bytes really matters to anyone, you won't notice that you gained those
few bytes on any disk that is bigger then 10Mb...

My /bin/true is exactly 92330 bytes by the way.
