Why the this long rant? Sorry, I really don't see what point you are trying to make by comparing `trv' against starting/stoping services, using stat for listing files, that anything vim can do can be done in vi (which is false by the way). Nor do I see any merrit in the long expose about Unix philosophy or how this isn't a way of getting your name into some kind of hall of fame. To me it just seems that you can't take polite criticism, I atleast am not convince that `trv' does serve useful purpose, and this expose has made me quite sure of that, but that is me, a loony user of coreutils.
p.s. The versions of find I have around on RHEL (findutils 4.1.7) doesn't support the -execdir action. When did it pop up? It is a BSD thing; would be nice to see in GNU find. Would you like to work on that? I'm quite sure Paul Eggert (I think he is the maintainer of GNU findutils) would be happy to accept such a feature. Cheers and happy hacking! _______________________________________________ Bug-coreutils mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-coreutils
