On a different cygwin box, all 5 of 5 chgrp tests failed. It turns out that Windows NT supports non-portable group names, and my primary group on that box is "Domain Users". This extra space wreaked havoc on tests/group-names, since I am not a member of "Domain" or of "Users" on that machine. It may be worth considering an update to the `id' executable to add an option to print group names in a quoted manner, like the --print0 option to other utilities, then teach the testsuite to split group names according to quoting boundaries rather than assuming that group names comply to POSIX portability recommendations. When I reran the testsuite with FETISH_GROUPS='root Administrators', using 2 of my secondary groups with portable names, I was back to 1 of 5 chgrp tests failing (tests/chgrp/basic, with the error I previously reported about chgrp not changing ctime). - -- Life is short - so eat dessert first!
