Info pages, powerful as they are, are almost exclusively GNU only. Man is the universal source of documentation for Unix like systems and it seems to me that the basics should be in man pages
And this has absolutley no relevance, GNU's Not Unix, and Info pages are where documentation is put with regard to anything in the GNU system and GNU system variants. So if I finish off the rest of the coreutils set in a manner similar to the patch I sent are you happy to take it? I'm not the maintainer of coreutils, Jim and Paul are they decide what goes and what doesn't. Would it be possible to expand help2man instead? So that it can pull specific sections from a into page and insert that information into the generated man page? Then these bits wouldn't have to be maintained in two seperate places. _______________________________________________ Bug-coreutils mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-coreutils
