Hi. I just got into Linux this week. I'm trying to get Firefox to play streams and I've gotten as far as downloading RealPlayer. Other applications as well, but nothing else to actually handle those propr. files like ra-this, mp-that, and wm-the other. I don't yet have a language book for the terminal, but I got the command off the site for another appy, "chmod..." (the filename) to get it to install. I picked up from the chmod help file to tag a --v onto the command to see what it was doing. Of course, it didn't kick it out, but it didn't do anything else either. Bottom line: Is there a place I can get a view of the language and procedures I need to (1) play streams, and (2) run, with wine or whatever, such .exe's as from onlinebible.net and e-sword.org?
