Please clarify the Samba effect; do you see all the time since
installing Samba, or only when smbd is running?

df uses the statfs system call to obtain the sizes. Could you send the
output of "strace df" (ideally just the statfs calls for the incorrect
mounts).

I'm not sure it matter much in this case, but which version of df are
you using, and from which vendor?
