Well, I dunno, is that really needed?  Often we don't document what's
deprecated.  After all, we don't want to make it easy to use stuff
that people shouldn't be using.  If you really want to know the
details you can look at the source code.

But POSIX says "date --" must behave like "date".  The rule is similar
for (almost) all programs.
