Hi CoreUtils, I just found a bug (?) in DiskFree (df). The description is: 1. I have a one large HDD 250Gb in size 2. It is mounted as one partition, ext2. 3. The fdisk shows the correct partition size (-p option inside fdisk), somethin' around 250Gb. 4. But the df shows me completely different info to the same partition - it sees only AVAILABLE 132.111.804 1K-blocks (no more) for this 250Gb mounted partition, while the USED are 120++M 1K blocks (of course I've using this drive). Thus, it is tryin' to tell me that I have only 12Gb left on my device (while actually there are 130Gb free, as shown by other utilites and as tested by swapping extra 100++Gb files in sum into this partition - there was no any problem for read-write. Just the problem is wrong DF output info.
The problem seems to be related to well-known "137Gb LBA limitation". Sorry if it is a known bug (isnt it?) Hope you'll guide me what to do for the fix...I've no idea for now. :( Sincerely, Alex PS: SlackWare 10.2(k:2.4.32), CoreUtils 5.96, NEC ExpressServer 5800/55Wa H/W + Seagate IDE HDD 250Gb (1 partition) as /dev/hdc1 mounted to /mnt/250gb/ _______________________________________________ Bug-coreutils mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-coreutils
