It has been proposed to start the miscutils project, to include utilities not seen as core to the system. I.E. utilities that are of less general use, but still worth maintaining and distributing.
dos2unix and unix2dos were the utils that prompted the miscutils proposal. I think miscutils could depend on coreutils, and hence also include generally useful scripts?
