What's wrong with 'cut --ou=string'? You can use any unambiguous abbreviation of a long option. In general, we are reluctant to consume short options without good reason. Is there any precedence for using -o with your desired semantics, such as a BSD implementation of cut? -- Don't work too hard, make some time for fun as well! Eric Blake [email protected]
