That compiler was shipped with Red Hat Linux 6.0, if I read the history correctly, and Red Hat stopped supporting that version years ago. Our general rule of thumb is that we don't bother supporting software that the original supplier no longer supports. Is another, more up-to-date compiler available on that old installation? That might be the easiest way to get going.
