sorry this was my fault. I used coreutils coming with the new Solaris
Companion CD, which is 5.97
OK, then maybe it's worth reporting to the provider of the Solaris
Companion CD that they are shipping an ancient version.
I was able to build 8.5 after defining LDFLAGS -lgen
Which .o file needed -lgen before compilation worked? We'd like to fix
that before coreutils 8.6.
