I feel like I commonly see people create alternative programs that claim
to be faster than X program from coreutils, using ASCII data and a non-C
locale to benchmark. The alternative program could very well still be
faster if LC_ALL=C were set, but it is still a bit misleading.

Perhaps that is one area where examples could help. I remember seeing
discussion about adding more previously on [email protected].
Yes good point.
There are various subtle/common combinations of settings,
where examples can really help to summarize.
