Hello, I'm looking for an easy to use program and easy to configure program, cpio is one of these, you know wich are the commands to make backups and restore them again, I'm writting an stupid script on bash to manage a tape with cpio program...
one thing that misses is the labeling of tapes, I don't really know how to identify tapes using mt or st or cpio, does program any way to recognize the tapes? first you must put one tape, the next day an other one... etc. maybe it is a newbie question, but an option at cpio to read info about tape will be very useful. thanks you much -- Blackhold
