I believe there is a small problem with the fix from Paradise done on 21th Feb 2000 in the CVS code base. The variable 'logHistory' is defined twice, once in src/parseinfo.c and a second time in src/history.c. It looks to me that the fix is to change the "char *logHistory" in src/parseinfo.c into "extern char *logHistory".
