It looks like NT cvs-1.9.10 will use the CVS_RSH environment variable while NT
cvs-1.10.5 will always try to use rsh.

I still haven't found a way for NT OpenSSH-2.1.0 to work in a non-GUI mode,
though. I would prefer to have a pure ssh2 environment than to introduce an
ssh1 client.

On NT We're using this cvs client
ftp://bmrc.berkeley.edu/pub/winnt/util/cvs.exe
and this ssh client
ftp://ftp.cs.hut.fi/pub/ssh/contrib/ssh-1.2.14-win32bin.zip

And this works for us.

The server is running Linux 2.2.14 and the CVS thats comes with SuSE6.3 - 1.10
something and the supplied ssh - don't know the versions.

The linux clients are SuSE6.3 too and use the supplied ssh client.

Let me know if you want more info on the setup - but I guess it maybe too
different from yours.
