Due to some unexplained randomness, I managed to created a file in one of my cvs-managed work areas whose filename contained a newline. Of course this was not intentional, and it was not a cvs managed file. The next time I did a "cvs status" or "cvs update" (without a filename argument), while cd'ed to a directory anywhere between the directory containiting the offending file and the root of my work area, the cvs client died with only the following error cryptic error message: unrecognized request `' cvs status: dying gasps from <hostname> unexpected (Where <hostname> is the name of our cvs server). This bug report is for cvs Version 1.10.7. No, we don't expect you to fix this in an old release. We are still running 1.10.7 because we have a policy of not upgrading critical tools in the middle of a project. --Tim McNerney _______________________________________________ Bug-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-cvs
