Arre dear, by that '*', I meant remaining part as it was before.
That is, 'cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/testrep login'
C:\test_repository>cvs -d :pserver:ruchira* login
cvs login: CVSROOT (":pserver:ruchira*")
cvs login: requires a path spec
cvs login:
:pserver[;keyword=value...]:[username[:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:port][:]/path
cvs [login aborted]: Bad CVSROOT.
And btw, this error message above says it all loud & clear.
