Hello everyone, As Antonio requested, below is a cut-n-paste of the ddrescue log file. It was very short, so I just manually keyed it here:
# Rescue Logfile. Created by GNU ddrescue version 1.3 # pos size status 0x00000000 0x1321301C00 + Also, Antonio requested that I compare the image files from ddrescue and dd_rescue. Unfortunately, I do not have enough storage on my empty drive to hold both images at the same time. Is there a way to compare them independently? Or could I compare partial images? Like a hash of one image compared against a hash of the other? The damaged drive is 80GB and my rescue drive is 120GB. One thing I noticed in looking at the files that Get Data Back could see in the image was that some of them were from previous data recoveries. I use this drive frequently for data recovery. So as a test, I ran DBAN on the empty drive just to be sure it was wiped clean. And yesterday, I re-ran ddrescue on the damaged drive to create a new image on the DBAN-ed empty drive. Today, I will load the image into Get Data Back and see if that made any difference. Thank you Jason for the tip with the Mount command. I will try that today on the ddrescue image, as well. Thank you, James _______________________________________________ Bug-ddrescue mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-ddrescue
