Sure! actually when i said SAS "ports" in reality it was more like "cables"... the SAS controller card has actually only ONE port for two two disks: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ws490/en/ug/paris110.jpg 4 -> the only port for the two disks. 2. -> Data cable 1. -> Power cable. 5. -> Data cables from both disks. So I just connected the dead disk using the data & power cables of the working disk.
