Hi, I am trying to recover files from a WD 2tb external drive that is
apparently dead. I tried ddrescue on Mac Os x 10.8 but the disk was not
recognized. Now trying on OS X 10.4 with some success. The destination drive
is a new 1.8tb with 1 partition. Here is the first run. It shows 8 hours
but was running much longer than that.

Control+C had no effect so I restarted in a new shell.

After a few hours the timer continued to show 0s and again Control+C had no
effect (it did not return to my home directory).
Both these tries were with options -f -n -v -v, so now I'm trying a third
time with options -f -r3 -v -v. It's been running for 3 hours and here's the
result so far.

The destination disk is OK although maybe a bit small. I think there should
be files still somewhere in the dead drive but how to get at them? Hope
someone can help.
Regards
