I am happy to announce that ddrutility has a new home and a new feature. It has also been repackaged.

The new home for ddrutility is on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ddrutility/

The original ddrutility was a tool to find what file were affected by bad sectors from a ddrescue logfile. It still has the same functionality (with only a few minor changes), but it has been renamed to ddru_findbad. Ddrutility has now become a set of tools, to hopefully be expanded in the future.

A new tool named ddru_ntfsbitmap has been added. It will extract an NTFS bitmap file from the source, and create a domain file to be used with ddrescue, that will allow only recovering the used portion of the partition.

Ddrutility is now packaged so it can be installed with make.

Please report all bugs / problems / comments in the ddrutility discussion forum at sourceforge. While I am confident the program will work as described, I can guarantee the documentation could use some work.

Enjoy!

Scott
