I have a client device that is reading at 64KB/sec regardless for the most part of what I do. No bad sectors, just slow.

Is there a toolkit/script/method of using ddrescue to be guided to specific blocks of data to load only files of interest?

I've already managed to recover the first few GB, so suspect the filesystem will be intact (it's an external WD 1TB USB3 drive, one of those dreaded ones with integrated USB controller)

Thanks in advance, I know this isn't quite really a ddrescue query as more of a "maybe other like minded people might know of a solution".

Regards,

Paul.
