[bug-diffutils] diff program fails

Hello,
I tried to use diff (GNU diffutils) 2.8.7 for MS windows. My computer runs
with windows xp professional and have 2 GB memory. During comparing two
directories (1,8 GB each) with diff -irqaw options program stops and gives
error message: "diff: memory exhausted". How can I fix this problem? Thank
